· Udju was made from green malachite (green ore of copper) from Sinai. Sinai and its mines were considered under the spiritual dominion of Hathor, ancient goddess of beauty, joy, love and women. She bore the epithet "Lady of Malachite."
· Mesdemet, a dark gray ore of lead, was derived from either stibnite (antimony sulphide) or, more typically, galena (lead sulphide.) Galena was found around Aswan and on the Red Sea Coast. It was also among the materials brought back by Pharaoh Hatshepsut's famed expedition to Punt and was given in tribute by Asiatic nomads.

The Marriage
In ancient Egypt, if a man asked a woman to marry him, her could say no( you see we are very cool!). Women were not equal with men, but they had considerably more rights than did women in other ancient civilizations.
One of their rights was the right to decide if they wished to marry or not. A woman in ancient Egypt could not be forced into marriage. Those who did marry usually married quite young, around age 12-14.
Once married, a woman's first duty was to be a good wife and mother. Children were very important to the ancient Egyptians.
Along with raising the children and running the household, women were free to get a paid job outside the home, if they wanted one. They could run a business. They could own, buy, and sell property. They could make a will and leave their personal goods to whomever they chose, including their daughters.
If any woman broke the law, she had go to court and defend herself from the charge, just like everyone else.
One of the biggest rights a woman had was the right of divorce. If a woman was unhappy with her marriage, she could get a divorce, and then remarry someone else or remain single.
To be granted a divorce, a woman needed to present a good reason in a court of law. If her divorce was granted, she gained custody of the children, along with all of her original dowry if one was brought to the marriage - or its equivalent worth - plus one-third of her husband's wealth. This was done so that she could raise her children comfortably. She also took with her any property she personally owned, including property that had been willed to her during her marriage.
Men could also get a divorce, but, if granted, women still gained custody of her children, her original dowry, and a big chunk of his wealth.

THE WARD THINGS OF CLOTHING!
Did you know the most of the clothing in Ancient Egypt was made out of linen;a few items were made from wool. Linen is spun from stem of the flax plant. through out the old, middle and new kingdom,the most frequently used costume for women was the simple sheath dress. A rectangular piece of cloth was folded once and sewn down the edge to make a tube. The dress would extend from a few inches above the ankles to either just above or just below the chest. A popular variant of this dress had a short sleeved top with a gathered opening to replace the straps.If you were a dancers or a servant you would be almost naked.: {

The Good the Bad the Rights for Women!
We in Egypt have good and bad rights for women. (Or at least that's in may opinion.) Hi I am Marie I know I know its a ward name in Egypt but when I was born my mom and dad wanted my name to be different well that's about me. Lets see what the rights are in Ancient Egypt for women.
Egyptian woman led freer lives and had more right than most women in ancient times (YES!!). We could inherit, own and manage our own property. We could make loans, rent land, and run our own businesses. We {Egyptian women} did not need escort to accompany them them when the went out in public, but if you would ask me my dad is an escort.
Despite these freedoms, we are not recoded in positions of power. Most of us women marry young and devoted them selves to there families.
